What’s on the Board
October 9, 2007Brasil Chapada is currently our darkest roast, a slightly sweet coffee with notes of liquorice.
Mexico Chiapas is a delicate, floral coffee with a wonderful tea-like body.
Tanzanian Ravuma Peaberry a heavy-bodied coffee with toasted almond and penut notes.

The brown-sugary Kenya has been a real hit and should be coming back next week.

French Press Classes
October 9, 2007Discovery Coffee is offering French press classes on October 13th at 1pm in the Annex.
This is a one hour tutorial suitable for coffee novices that will cover selection of coffee, quantity, brewing and care of your french press. Each participant goes home laden with a coffee plant, half a pound of Discovery coffee of your choice and a french press. The cost for one person is 60$ and for two is 70$ so bring a friend.
We’re also offering a partial class, for those who’ve been using a french press in their home and want to be able to better select coffees and care for their press pots. Everyone in this class will go home with a coffee plant and a half pound of Discovery coffee of your choice. The cost for one person is 30$ and for two it’s 40$.
Places are limited so please preregister at the cafe.

Indian Mysore is mild, earthy and funky.
Tanzania Ravuma Peaberry is a peanutty delight.

French Press classes starting soon
October 3, 2007Introduction to French Press classes are starting at the Discovery Coffee Annex. The first class will be at 1 o’clock on Saturday, October 13 and looks like it should be fun! The class will cover selecting beans, choosing a french press, brewing with a french press and care and maintenance. Please register in the store.

Coming up: We’re currently cupping Brasil Chapada (looks like a nice, nutty coffee with dried raspberry notes) and that perrenial favorite the Tanzania Ravuma Peaberry.
Special Note: We do still have a little of the Java Pancor left, but there’s not much so if you want it, you’ll have to be quick!
